Job Summary
The Facilities Maintenance Assistant is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment across Raulli & Sons’ two facilities located on Teall Avenue (Syracuse) and Kirkville.
Essential Job Duties
- Maintain and clean industrial equipment on a schedule.
- Perform minor repairs and assist with major repairs on various types of equipment.
- Empty trash and recycling bins; perform general housekeeping.
- Reliably operate snowplow equipment.
- Safely handle general yard work, weed control and debris cleanup.
- Perform general maintenance needs such as facility repairs.
- Shovel and/or salt main walkways during winter months when requested to ensure safe entryways.
- Perform general equipment inspections as required.
- Travel between Teall Avenue and Kirkville facilities as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
Prior janitorial, custodial, or general maintenance experience preferred but not required.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and committed to maintaining clean, safe environments.
- Good communication skills and willingness to report supply or maintenance needs.
- Reliable transportation to travel between company facilities.
- Regular attendance is required.
Certificates and Licenses
- Valid NYS Drivers License
EQUIPMENT LISTING (MACHINES, TOOLS & SOFTWARE)
- Standard hand and power tools.
- Safely operate truck mounted snowplow.
- Utilize electronic equipment for diagnosing, researching repairs.
- Basic communication tools (phone, email for reporting as needed).
MENTAL AND VISUAL DEMAND
- Requires attention to detail to maintain cleanliness standards.
- Requires awareness of surroundings to identify safety hazards or maintenance issues.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND DEMANDS
- Moderate Lifting: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds on rare occasions, with assistance.
