About the Role

As the Facilities & Fire Protection Specialist at the Lockheed Martin Greenville location, you will be responsible for the maintenance, inspection, and repair of the facility, with a focus on fire protection systems. This role involves dismantling, moving, assembling, installing, and repairing industrial machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, or verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, test, and service site fire protection systems to prescribed standards and in accordance with local and state fire codes.
  • Identify code and system deficiencies and prepare accurate, timely inspection reports.
  • Perform on-site emergency troubleshooting and repairs of site fire sprinkler systems.
  • Manage projects focused on fire system upgrades.
  • Gather data from existing and new equipment for entry into LMBuildings to set Preventative Maintenance schedules and activities.
  • Direct day-to-day activities of subcontractors or vendors and communicate effectively with personnel at all levels.
  • Dismantle machines using hand tools (hammers, wrenches, crowbars) and move machinery using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
  • Assemble and install equipment such as conveyors and tram rails using hand and power tools.
  • Construct foundations, align machines, perform routine inspections, and replace worn or broken parts.
  • Assist in the overhaul and repair of complex mechanical equipment as needed.
  • Respond to off-hour calls and emergencies, adjusting schedule as necessary to meet business needs.

Requirements

  • Complete understanding of inspection, testing, and maintenance of water-based fire sprinkler systems in AFFF aircraft hangars and other occupied structures.
  • Strong working knowledge of Wet, Dry, Pre-action, and Deluge fire sprinkler systems to make necessary adjustments or repairs.
  • Experience with inspection and testing of sprinkler and/or fire alarm systems per NFPA standards.
  • Knowledge of fire alarm components tied into sprinkler systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and building codes related to fire sprinkler systems.
  • Ability to collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve issues professionally.
  • Ability to educate management on preventative care and regular maintenance to prevent system malfunctions.
  • Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive movements.
  • Frequent standing for long periods, walking, stooping, kneeling, squatting, crawling, and twisting required.
  • Must obtain a security clearance within the first year.

Qualifications

  • NICET Certifications in Water-Based Systems and/or Fire Alarms and Signaling Code (desired).
  • Degree from an accredited school in a related field (desired).

Pay

Full-Time Salary Range: $60,300 – $112,100. Salary is determined based on scope, responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, and market considerations.

Schedule

  • 1st Shift with 3-day weekends every weekend.
  • Flexible work schedules available (onsite to remote options).
  • Must be available to respond to off-hour calls and emergencies.
