Main Functions
- Evaluate and provide technical review of engineering work performed by internal teams, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Ensure engineering activities comply with company standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Support execution of engineering and design routines aligned with business objectives and operational goals.
- Facilitate communication between engineering teams and other business functions regarding project status, issues, and progress.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on facility engineering matters.
- Support safe, reliable, and efficient facility operations.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Participate in Area Risk Assessments, HAZOPs, Hazard Hunts, and Critical Operating Parameter Reviews.
- Lead investigations related to facility downtime, process safety incidents, and operational failures.
- Identify operational improvement opportunities and develop project scopes of work.
- Conduct risk assessments for new facility projects and existing operating facilities.
- Drive closure of mitigation action items resulting from risk reviews and assessments.
- Lead facility performance testing and plant-based operational trials.
- Develop and maintain operating guidelines and facility procedures.
- Support facility optimization and reliability improvement initiatives.
- Coach, mentor, and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and peers.
- Cook up with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution and operational support.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Extensive knowledge of engineering design standards, specifications, applicable codes, and safety requirements.
- Strong understanding of facility operations, process safety, and engineering risk management.
- Experience participating in or leading HAZOPs, risk assessments, and process safety reviews.
- Experience leading incident investigations and developing corrective actions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Oil & Gas upstream, midstream, processing, or facility operations experience.
- Experience supporting facility projects, debottlenecking, optimization, and operational improvement initiatives.
- Experience developing operating procedures and facility operating guidelines.
- Demonstrated mentoring and leadership experience.
- Strong background in process safety management and facility reliability programs.
