Responsibilities
- Gather and analyze data, blueprints, and reports to support facility planning and operations
- Determine facility and equipment specifications
- Analyze project costs and assist with budget preparation
- Design and oversee facility expansions, layouts, systems, and quality controls
- Evaluate operational systems and infrastructure to identify and improve efficiency
- Develop processing plans and optimize resource allocation
- Plan and coordinate infrastructure and equipment maintenance schedules
- Coverage and oversee contractors performing maintenance work
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, building codes, and health and safety standards
- Prepare reports and compliance documentation
- Review and optimize preventive maintenance programs in the CMMSS
- Support asset management, documentation, and engineering activities
- Apply working knowledge of HVAC, fire suppression, and high voltage systems
- Prepare annual, 5 year and 10 year infrastructure plans
- Review and monitor current processes to improve efficiency
- Schedule routine maintenance activities
- Troubleshoot plant utility system issues
- Analyze opportunities for process and infrastructure improvements
- Prepare technical specifications
- Aid in the development of annual master plans
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 5 to 10 years of experience as a Facilities Engineer or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of building processes and construction principles
- Understanding of relevant regulations and building codes
- Creative problem solving skills
- Familiarity with project management tools, methodologies, and best practices
- Experience managing projects through the full lifecycle
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Proven ability to deliver projects on scope, on budget, and on schedule
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate across all levels of the organization
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and CMMS systems
- Ability to work effectively with cross functional teams
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or other related field.
