Responsibilities

  • Applies basic electrical engineering principles and standard procedures to support facility electrical systems and power distribution infrastructure.
  • Assists with planning, design, installation, testing, commissioning, modification, and documentation of new construction and renovation projects.
  • Assists with feasibility studies, preliminary engineering evaluations, and scope development for facility improvement projects.
  • Supports system installations, relocations, modifications, and decommissioning activities associated with facility electrical infrastructure projects.
  • Supports development of project deliverables including drawings, specifications, schedules, budgets, and bills of material.
  • Assists with electrical system studies including load analysis, breaker coordination, arc flash evaluations, and power quality assessments.
  • Supports maintenance, troubleshooting, and corrective actions for electrical equipment and distribution systems.
  • Works on clearly defined engineering tasks and project assignments under supervision.
  • Applies established engineering processes, design standards, and maintenance procedures.
  • Assists in evaluating equipment performance, system reliability, and opportunities for replacement, expansion, or optimization.
  • Participates in root cause investigations and implementation of corrective actions to improve system performance and reliability.
  • Supports continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, efficiency, and operational excellence.
  • Learns from mentors and experienced engineers while developing technical expertise in facility electrical systems.
  • Participates in engineering reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge-sharing activities.
  • Supports the preparation and maintenance of electrical documentation, procedures, and records.
  • Assists senior engineers with project execution, contractor coordination, and engineering analyses.
  • Communicates effectively within the immediate team and with facility operations, maintenance, construction, and project stakeholders.
  • Supports coordination of electrical projects and activities across departments.
  • Supports contractor coordination and reviews completed work for compliance with project requirements, quality standards, and safety expectations.
  • Develops professional relationships with engineers and technical personnel to promote collaboration and best practice sharing.
  • Assists with communicating technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Supports compliance with applicable electrical codes, company standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements.
  • Follows established safety procedures and participates in risk assessments, audits, and inspections.
  • Supports accurate maintenance of electrical drawings, specifications, system documentation, and project records.
  • Promotes a safe work environment through adherence to company safety policies and safe work practices.
  • Assists with contractor oversight to help ensure work quality, safety compliance, and adherence to project requirements.

Minimal travel may be required for training, vendor visits, benchmarking activities, or support at other Panasonic facilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field. Relevant work experience may be substituted for required education.
  • Strong foundational understanding of electrical engineering principles and power distribution systems.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical equipment, construction practices, and facility infrastructure.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and communicate technical information effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn, accept coaching, and develop technical expertise.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of engineering experience through internships, co-ops, or entry-level roles in manufacturing environments.
  • Experience in high-volume battery manufacturing or a related industrial environment such as electronics, automotive, or energy storage.
  • Exposure to facility electrical systems, power distribution equipment, substations, switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, generators, or related infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with electrical studies such as load flow, short circuit, breaker coordination, or arc flash analysis.
  • Experience supporting construction, commissioning, maintenance, or reliability improvement projects.
  • Ability to respond effectively to equipment and system issues while working with senior engineers to identify and implement corrective actions.
  • Familiarity with applicable electrical codes, standards, and safe work practices.
  • Internship, co-op, research, or project experience supporting facility, industrial, manufacturing, utility, power distribution, or large-scale infrastructure systems.
  • Exposure to large industrial, battery manufacturing, semiconductor, utility, or campus-style facility infrastructure.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may include: full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, bump cap, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator.
