Facilities Cleaner
We are seeking a Janitorial Associate to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities
- Follow and commit to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for safety, quality, production, efficiency, and service requirements
- Follow practices and processes intended to provide safe products that comply with appropriate laws and regulations, and meet company quality standards
- Follow and commit to safety and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
- Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors
- Thoroughly clean and sanitize common spaces and touch points in lunchrooms, break rooms, bathrooms, and conference rooms
- Replenish supplies as needed
- Inform supervisor of low supply inventory
- Empty trash
- Dust and clean glass surfaces as needed
- Clean and sanitize production equipment and areas
- Clean trenches
- Pickup, collect, and remove scrap, dust, and other debris from production area
- Collect trash from production areas and empty containers at the end of the shift
- Assist facilities maintenance with simple maintenance responsibilities such as changing light bulbs, hanging items, picking up and removing internal or external debris, removing snow or ice, and salting common walk areas
Requirements
- Previous janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, sanitation, or commercial cleaning experience strongly preferred
- Ability to observe, follow, understand, and evaluate processes demonstrated and other workplace procedures
- Ability to meet safety and quality standards
- Ability to work independently
- Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on-going communications about safety and quality issues
Preferred Qualifications
- 6+ months of janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, sanitation, facilities cleaning, or industrial cleaning experience strongly preferred
- Experience cleaning offices, restrooms, break rooms, production areas, or warehouses strongly preferred
- Experience operating floor scrubbers, buffers, vacuums, and other commercial cleaning equipment strongly preferred
- Knowledge of safe chemical handling and cleaning procedures strongly preferred
