Face to Face Interpreter – Portuguese
About the role
As a face-to-face Portuguese Language Interpreter, you'll use your language skills to assist others during medical, social service, and other types of in-person appointments. This role offers a flexible schedule with the opportunity to earn more by taking on additional assignments. It's ideal for those seeking to use their bilingual skills in a rewarding way while maintaining control over their work hours.
Assignments are available 24/7/365, with most requests occurring during business hours. You can choose as many or as few assignments as you can handle.
Requirements
- Be located in the Central Ohio area.
- Have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Be eligible to work in the United States.
- Pass a Federal Criminal Background Check based on fingerprints and a 10-panel drug screening (at no cost to you).
- Provide proof of program completion from an accredited interpreter training of at least 40 hours (e.g., Bridging the Gap, Access 2 Interpreters' "Access Academy," Court Interpretation, Certificate, or Degree in interpretation from an accredited college or university).
- Provide Certification of Bilingual Proficiency or pay for and complete a 3rd Party Bilingual Fluency Evaluation through an accredited testing and evaluation organization.
We welcome applicants with no previous professional interpretation experience or those who speak English as a second language (ESL). Multilingual candidates fluent in English and Portuguese are encouraged to apply.
Pay
Earnings are flexible and depend on the number of assignments you take. The more assignments you accept, the more you can earn.
