Responsibilities
- Supervises the architectural team.
- Leads project architectural design and coordination with internal and external teams.
- Produces architectural team project budgets and project schedules.
- Manages design coordination with rainscreen subcontractors.
- Supports Sales and Estimating with project pursuits and client relationships.
- Leads the panelization, design, and detailing of our X-Series exterior wall panel product line.
- Reviews and coordinates team deliverables including shops drawings, fabrication details, and façade model coordination.
- Reviews project specifications related to finishes, fire rating, sound ratings, waterproofing, and thermal requirements to ensure Digital Building’s design and details are in alignment.
- Produces finished panel shop drawings and details for fabrication.
- Develops standard details for each of our exterior wall panel finish types.
- Collaborates with and supports other teams within Digital Building from sales through installation.
- Leads architectural scope for prototypes and project mockups.
- Leads architectural team efficiencies and continuous improvement.
- Researches and understands applicable building and energy codes.
- Complies with LEED and Living Building Standards.
- Supports HCAI submission for California healthcare projects.
Requirements
- Good communication and collaboration skills with a variety of stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively within the constraints of prefabricated design.
- Proficient in software such as Revit, Bluebeam, BIM360/ACC, Navisworks, Procore, Smartsheet, Box, Excel.
Skills
- Architectural license preferred but not required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or 5+ years as an architectural designer.
- A solid understanding of IBC Ch. 14.
- Experience with interior and exterior wall STC/IIC, fire ratings, waterproofing, and thermal R values.
- Experience designing & detailing with EIFS and rainscreen systems.
- Experience designing in high seismic areas and HCAI.
- A passion for efficiencies, cost savings, and continuous improvement.
- Prefabrication and/or manufacturing experience is preferred, but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times if needed.
