Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Efficiently set up, operate, and perform assignments on one or more Punch Presses, Platen Press, Samco Press, or Stress Saver Press, including service functions and preparation/cutting of all types of gaskets using sheet, rolls, strips, and scrap stock.
- Select, install, and make necessary adjustments to all dies and machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Operate hydraulic mechanical press, including raising/lowering press, proper baring of press platens, applying mold wash to cavities, inserting blanks in mold by hand, loading board pots or plates, covering mold, and inserting into press.
- Monitor pressure changes, mechanical lubricating system function, temperature readings, bumps, and pre-heat cycle to correct product issues.
- Remove finished molded pieces from mold cavities and deposit into provided containers.
- Tear trim and stack parts in appropriate containers.
- Operate Warming Oven per working instructions.
- Transport molds from press lines to cleaning area, disassemble molds, load mold sections into cleaning machinery, activate controls, clean molds with media blaster, unload molds, reassemble molds, and return to storage or press lines.
- Ensure dirty molds are properly pulled out of service for cleaning and returned to production lines on time.
- Load cleaning ingredients into machinery and unload generated residue and process waste as needed.
- Package and ship goods to domestic and international customers, including cleaning, labeling, and packaging oxygen service gaskets. Apply adhesive to bond product when necessary.
- Perform all necessary input for transfer and shipment of goods via computer.
- Transfer semi-finished and finished goods to the next area.
- Work from written orders, verbal communications, engineering work orders, and daily work schedules/kanban to meet customer demands for style, quantity, thickness, and other requirements.
- Refer to departmental Work Procedures/Guidelines for specific daily duties.
- Maintain inventory records and retrieve raw materials for processing.
Other Duties
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Perform other jobs as assigned by supervisor.
- Keep records of production.
- Collect data and provide input to supervision/engineering regarding quality, stock availability, and die/mold conditions.
- Work with supervision/engineering on process and production improvements.
- Notify supervision of defective conditions.
