Fabricator - Layout

Position Summary

FIVES NORTH AMERICAN COMBUSTION, INC. is hiring a permanent, full-time Fabricator (layout) to join their team in Cleveland, OH. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in Fabrication Layout, prefer experience running a Punch Press, Press Brake, and Shear, basic welding knowledge, and strong inventory management skills.

About the Role

Performing in a self-directed environment with limited supervision, the Fabricator (layout) reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to determine sequences and methods of fabricating, assembling products. They lay out and mark dimensions and center lines, bolt circles on material, and develop patterns/templates for parts or make fixtures. Safe operation and usage of various equipment, such as shears, punch presses, grinders, band saws, overhead bridge cranes, and lift trucks, is essential. Accurately following routings and bills of material to manage inventory is also a key responsibility. Troubleshooting and assisting with welding and fabrication questions within the department is required.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to determine sequences and methods of fabricating, assembling products.
• Lay out and mark dimensions and center lines, bolt circles on material, and develop patterns/templates for parts or make fixtures.
• Safe operation and usage of various equipment, including shears, punch presses, grinders, band saws, overhead bridge cranes, and lift trucks.
• Accurately follow all routings and bills of material to properly manage inventory.
• Troubleshoot and assist with welding and fabrication questions in the department as required.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in Fabrication Layout.
• PREFERRED: Experience running a Punch Press, Press Brake, and Shear.
• BASIC WELDING KNOWLEDGE.
• VERY MECHANICALLY INCLINED AND VERY RELIABLE.
• INVENTORY MANAGEMENT (BIN/FLOOR & WORK IN PROGRESS).
• COMPUTER SKILLS.
• EXPERIENCE NAVIGATING/WORKING IN AN ERP SYSTEM (SAP).
