Fabricator / Installer
What You’ll Do
As a Fabricator / Installer, you’ll play an important role in helping customers keep their operations running smoothly. Your work will include on-site installation, splicing, repair, and fabrication of conveyor belting products and components. You’ll also:
- Conduct pre-installation calls with Sales Representatives and customers to confirm scope of work, materials, and timelines.
- Complete post-installation follow-up calls to review completed work and help ensure customer satisfaction.
- Manage your installation calendar, travel schedule, expense reports, and installation tracking documents.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in excellent working order.
- Identify customer needs such as reorders, preventative maintenance opportunities, or suitable Belt Power solutions.
- Collaborate with Sales Representatives, Sales teams, and Regional Management by sharing field feedback and supporting customer service opportunities.
- Keep accurate documentation of service visits, including installation reports, work orders, and system updates.
- Participate in safety, technical, and professional development training to continue building your skills.
- Travel for in-state and out-of-state service work as needed, including overnight travel by company van, commercial flights, and hotel stays.
- Follow all safety rules and wear required Personal Protective Equipment.
Requirements
The ideal candidate brings a strong mechanical background, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt when jobsite conditions or customer needs change.
- Strong organization, prioritization, and attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret and verify precise measurements using a tape measure.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights or in tight spaces.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Technical or mechanical training preferred.
- 3 or more years of prior experience in technical installation, fabrication, or industrial maintenance strongly preferred.
Work Environment And Physical Requirements
This role is physically active and may include lifting heavy packages up to 50 pounds, bending, stooping, climbing ladders, using hand tools, operating heavy machinery such as a forklift, coordinating schedules, taking precise measurements, and solving problems on the job. Work is generally performed at customer facilities or in a fabrication shop. Noise levels may be moderately loud, conditions may vary by customer site, and employees may be required to wear protective clothing, work at heights, operate heavy equipment, and follow strict safety regulations. The position may require standing, bending, kneeling, sitting, using hands and arms, and applying manual dexterity and strength to handle tools, equipment, controls, and materials for extended periods.
