What You' ll Do
- Prepare and weld complex plastic parts to drawing specifications.
- Demonstrate the initiative to help in the training of others.
- Demonstrate the ability to be a leader.
- Be able to field customer questions in relation to work also be able to work with customers and aid in the manufacturing of prototype opportunities.
Qualifications, Requirements, and/or Experience
- 6-8 years in manufacturing environment, Fabrication experience required
- Ability to identify and weld different plastics - WPP, NPP, All PVC material, FRPP, PE, Polycarbonate, CPVC, PVDF, FM4910, Acetal, Acrylics, PET, PEEK, UHMW, HDPE, PTFE, PFA Materials.
- Ability to use equipment provided to Pure bond, Socket fusion, Butt weld.
- Ability to work in a clean room environment for whole shifts at a time.
- Ability to work with in house and on-site with customers.
- Able to glue a variety of plastics (PVC, Acrylic, Polycarbonate).
- Able to bend materials using heat.
- Able to troubleshoot problems as they arise.
- Able to read and interpret engineered drawings.
- Able to make threads on pipe and round rod.
- Able to use Manual Mill and Manual lathe.
- Able to adapt and work in hazardous environments safely.
- Able to identify and build using Inch and Metric dimensions.
- Able to read and interpret a bill of materials, Have the ability to go to customer sites and do the same functions that are done in the shop, at the customer’s facility.
- Demonstrate the ability to use the following hand tools: Hand scraper, Exacto knife, Utility knife, Hand chisel, Calipers, Tape Measure, Deburring Tools, Counter Sinks.
- Demonstrate the ability to use the following electric tools Safely: Welding guns, Hand drills (electric, and battery), Hand routers, Jointer, Drill Press, Table Saw, Jig Saw/Saber Saw.
- Demonstrate the ability to use a variety of measuring tools: Calipers, Depth gauge, Micrometers, Radius gauges, Angle gauges, Thread gauges, Pin Gauges, Go/No-Go Tools.
- Record job tracking
- Be able to communicate issues related to work orders, drawings, part shortages and machine errors.
- Driver’s license
