Schedule
- 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM or 3:30 PM – 1:30 AM shift
Responsibilities
- Read and sign off on JSA prior to starting shift
- Interpret sketches and identify all grades of material listed on sketches
- Transfer heat numbers from pipe to sketch when required
- Perform basic math operations (addition and subtraction of dimensions)
- Read a tape measure accurately
- Operate plasma and/or oxyfuel cutting equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance (e.g., greasing equipment)
- Conduct daily inspections (e.g., safety guards, hydraulic hoses, air lines, torch cutting equipment)
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times
- Measure and cut pipe to specified lengths as called out on sketches
- Perform other tasks as required by the company or foreman due to job demands
Requirements
- Ability to work a 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM or 3:30 PM – 1:30 AM shift
- One to two years of experience in pipe fabrication or related skills (preferred)
- Ability to read a tape measure
- Ability to lay out and cut pipe or willingness to learn
- Capable of working in a team setting
- Must pass post-offer drug/alcohol screening and physical evaluation
- Compliance with job site Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements:
- Hearing protection
- Safety glasses
- Long sleeve shirt
- Gloves
- Steel toe boots
Physical Demands
- Climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc., above and below ground level
- Maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds, and structures
- Reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials
- Coordinating eye, hand, and finger movements to operate tools and equipment
- Lifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead
- Carrying objects, tools, and equipment
- Standing, sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, crouching/squatting, crawling
- Seeing with or without correction
- Hearing with or without correction

Work Environment
- Location: Industrial construction sites and/or fabrication shop
- Mobility barriers: Uneven ground levels, obstructed pathways
- Work performed at low and/or high elevations and in confined areas
- Exposure to outdoor climate conditions (extreme heat or cold, excessive humidity, rain, etc.)
- Various noise levels from tools, machinery, and equipment
- Potential exposure to chemical substances
