Main position objectives

  • Set up, operate, saw, cut, shear, slit, punch, crimp, notch, bend, or straighten metal or plastic material.

Position Description

  • Controls machines and processes using direct physical activity to operate machines or processes.
  • Handles and moves objects using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials.
  • Inspects equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of problems or defects.
  • Performs physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
  • Lifts raw materials manually or using hoist.
  • Measurement and mathematical fraction/decimal conversion skills.
  • Ability to distinguish material types including Aluminum, Steel & Stainless Steel.
  • Uses computers and computer systems to program and setup functions, enter data, or process information.
  • Reads blueprints.
  • Operates forklift.
  • Tests, measures and adjusts machines when needed.
  • Provides a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task.
  • Able to multitask.
  • Keeps work area clean and organized.

Candidate must be

  • Reliable.
  • Able to use grinding tools.
  • Follows all safety rules and quality standards.
  • Follows all company rules and policies.

Work Environment

  • Work in this position is both in an office and a factory floor environment, either locally or at a customer site.
  • While performing the duties of this job in a factory setting, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud and PPE may be required.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing.
  • Must be able to lift items up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent standing; walking; using hands to finger, handle or feel; and reaching with hands and arms.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Job Specification

  • Mandatory: High School diploma or equivalent education (additional technical skills a plus).
  • Technical training reading Blueprints.
  • Mandatory: Operator forklift.
  • Interpersonal Skills And Behavioral Competencies:
    • Willingness to learn.
    • Verbal and written communication skills.
    • Highly organized and efficient in approaching tasks.
    • Independent self-starter with ability to problem solve and anticipate and avoid issues.
