Fabricator

About the role

Hitachi Energy in Alamo, TN is seeking a Fabricator to join the maintenance department. In this role, you will troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and modify equipment to support a continuous improvement culture.

Responsibilities

• Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units, following blueprints and layout specifications, using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools
• Design and construct templates and fixtures using required tools
• Verify conformance of workpieces to specifications using squares, rulers, and measuring tapes
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
• Demonstrate dexterity and hand-eye coordination, including the ability to grasp, manipulate, and assemble parts and components that are often very small and/or heavy

Requirements

• Proficient in math and can accurately read measuring devices
• Familiar with schematic reading, electrical, pneumatics, and general building
• Ability to work independently
• Knowledge in welding processes: GMAW, SMAW, GTAW, FCAW
• Knowledge in braze welding

Qualifications

Associate or technical degree in welding or a related field with at least 1 year of experience.
