Responsibilities
- Fabricate, modify, and assemble automotive components, structures, frames, brackets, and vehicle systems.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD models, and technical specifications.
- Cut, bend, shape, drill, grind, and finish metal materials to required dimensions and tolerances.
- Perform MIG and TIG welding on steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other materials.
- Build prototypes, test fixtures, vehicle modifications, and production support equipment.
- Install fabricated components on vehicles/engine dynos and verify fit, form, and function.
- Work with engineers, technicians, and production teams to support vehicle and engine dyno development activities.
- Maintain quality standards and perform inspections on completed work.
- Troubleshoot fabrication issues and recommend design improvements.
- Operate fabrication equipment safely, including saws, brakes, shears, presses, mills, and welding tools.
- Maintain compliance with safety procedures and shop standards.
Requirements
- A high school diploma, GED, technical certificate, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in automotive fabrication, metal fabrication, welding, or vehicle assembly.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and fabrication blueprints.
- Proficiency with fabrication tools and shop equipment.
- Experience with MIG and TIG welding processes.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Candidates to bring their own tools and precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, and measuring tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Automotive, motorsports, prototype, or specialty vehicle fabrication experience.
- Experience working with aluminum, stainless steel, and chromoly materials.
- Knowledge of vehicle systems and automotive assembly.
- Welding certifications.
- Experience supporting R&D, vehicle prototype, or custom fabrication programs.
