Fabrications Lab Coordinator

About the role

The Fabrication Lab Coordinator supports programmatic and operational aspects of the MIX Center Fabrication Lab (FabLab), a 2,400-square-foot shared learning space in the Media and Immersive eXperience (MIX) Center. The FabLab facilitates experimentation with digital fabrication technologies across various disciplines including film, immersive media, visual effects, design, and the arts.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate access to digital fabrication tools and resources
• Provide instructional support and training to users
• Coordinate public programming events and workshops
• Support students, faculty, community members, and visiting artists throughout their projects
• Collaborate with internal partners to enhance learning, engagement, and program delivery

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as engineering, art, design, or a related discipline
• Experience working in a makerspace or similar environment
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently with occasional supervision

Qualifications

• Proficiency in digital fabrication tools and software
• Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices in a makerspace environment
• Experience with event planning and programming

Pay

$50,000–$60,000, depending on experience within the posted range
