Fabrication/Welding Tech

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Bends aluminum or stainless-steel parts using machine tools, fabricating according to customer orders.
• Performs welding duties as required for parts fabricated according to customer specifications.
• Fabricates items such as battery boxes, stainless steel tank straps, tread plate aluminum deck plates, using correct measurements, tools, and machinery.
• Operates all fabricating and welding machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
• Cleans work area at the end of each day to reduce clutter and eliminate safety hazards.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Welding certification from an accredited welding school/program.
• Ability to learn and operate shears, press brakes, and forklift truck.
• A positive attitude with a customer service focus in a fast-paced work environment.
• Ability to multi-task, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.
• Detail-oriented, focused, driven, and self-starter.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Shifts

• Mondays through Thursdays: 7:45am - 5:15pm
• Fridays: 8am - noon

Working Conditions

• Periods of standing, walking, reaching, stooping/kneeling, and bending.
• Stair climbing and walking on uneven surfaces.
• Heat/cold conditions in warehouse.
• Moderate use of hands and arms.
• May be required to lift up to 50 lbs. by self, or team lift up to 100 lbs.
• Use of mechanical lifts required for heavier orders.
• Heavy-duty machinery operation.
• May be subject to periods of driving a forklift truck.
