About the role

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Fabrication Technician II (2nd Shift) at our Hodges, SC facility.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares aluminum and copper busbars for assembly by operating manual presses, hand grinders, and taping equipment prior to the Epoxy process.
  • May assist with gathering materials for various work centers.
  • Complies with all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) guidelines.
  • Maintains 5S+ standards within the work area.
  • Receives job assignments from the supervisor or through the production control system.
  • Enters required information into the data collection system accurately and promptly.
  • Interprets manufacturing documents, including sketches, drawings, and written or verbal instructions.
  • Sets up and operates heavy machinery, such as Weidamatics, Optishear, band saws, coil machines, and drill presses.
  • Performs routine machine maintenance, including oiling, manual clamp adjustments, and clamp/finger replacements.
  • Frequently pushes or pulls loads up to 100 lbs. and lifts up to 50 lbs without accomodation; uses material handling equipment to move and position heavy materials safely.
  • Maintains familiarity with all materials used in job tasks and follows Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) instructions.
  • Uses calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools to verify components meet engineering specifications to ±0.001 in.
  • Conducts statistical process control (SPC) monitoring on machinery as required.
  • Flex across various fabrication areas, which may include Geka shear, coil machine, housing saw, accessory bending, press brake, downdraft, masking, and housing punch.

Qualifications

  • Basic: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: 3 months of industrial manufacturing experience, 3 months of experience operating a powered industrial vehicle (e.g., forklift), 3 months of experience using hand and pneumatic (air) tools, South Carolina Manufacturing Certification (SCMC) or equivalent.
