Fabrication Support (1st shift, Monday-Thursday, 6:30am-4:30pm)

Alexandria, MN – 1st shift, Monday-Thursday, 6:30am-4:30pm

Responsibilities

• Exhibit active leadership to model and support the company’s vision, culture, and strategies
• Ensure safety is always the number one priority; promote and support a safe work environment and safety-oriented culture by following all safety programs and guidelines
• Set up and run equipment safely and efficiently to maximize output while meeting customer quality requirements
• Rotate strenuous or repetitive jobs at a minimum of every 4 hours to prevent risk of injury (strenuous activity requires significant effort, energy, or strength; repetitive motion occurs every few seconds with little or no variation)
• Accurately and efficiently fulfill customer orders:
  • Review manufacturing orders to verify internal and external customer specifications
  • Package orders based on customer specifications
  • Follow current work center schedule to ensure customer service and satisfaction
• Monitor and recommend process improvements to safety, rates, yield, and inspection techniques
• Perform general machine maintenance to keep equipment in well-maintained condition
• Provide suggestions and continuous improvement ideas to enhance processes and procedures
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area using the 5S system (standardize, sustain, sort, set in order, and shine)
• Continually support and improve the department’s key measures

Requirements

• Basic computer skills
• Ability to recognize safety concerns
• Ability to utilize proper inspection equipment
• A highly motivated self-starter
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Basic math skills
• Ability to detect minor defects in product finish
• Ability to read blueprints and inspect parts according to customer specifications

Pay

The anticipated pay range for this position is $18.00–$25.48 per hour. Actual base pay will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.
