Fabrication Specialist (contract)
About the role
This is a contract assignment with Boeing, performed through a Boeing-approved third-party contractor. Regular and predictable attendance is required.
Responsibilities
- Machine set-up, machining, welding set-up, welding, sheet metal fabrication and extrusion, tube bending and fabrication tasks.
- Composite lay-up, fabrication and assembly tasks.
- Assembles precision mechanical and electro-mechanical components.
- Assembles, repairs, modifies and installs various power plants and drive trains.
- Performs soldering on electronic and avionics products.
- Assembles and installs wire harnesses and avionics products.
- Prepares test articles, fixtures and data collection devices to perform various tests.
- Performs basic organic chemical conversion and paint preparation.
- Applies routine organic coatings for corrosion protection and appearance requirements.
- Works on articles of limited complexity following established drawings and requirements.
Requirements/Years Of Experience
- Ability to work a variable shift.
- Ability to meet physical demands of the role such as: flexion and extension (head bent down, head bent back), handling, kneeling, bending at the waist, reaching overhead, rotation of head/neck, standing, twisting at the waist and walking, climbing/balancing (stairs, ladders, poles, scaffolding, inclined surfaces), crawling, crouching (squatting).
- Ability to carry and lift up to 10-35 pounds.
- Ability to work with High Hazard Chemicals.
- Ability to complete and maintain Confined Space and Fall Protection certifications, as required.
- 1+ years experience using software applications for internet navigation, email, Microsoft Suite and/or other specialized computer applications.
- 1+ years experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, reading, and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications, in English.
- 1+ years of experience applying mathematical calculations.
- 1+ years experience in a technical or mechanical field performing work with basic hand, power and/or pneumatic (air) tools.
- 1+ years experience of experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or assembly processes and procedures.

- Conventional material layup.
- Precision measuring.
- CNC experience.
- Experience reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, material processes, schematic and diagrams in English.
Pay
Pay Rate Range: 21 - 26 USD hourly.
