Position Responsibilities

  • Conducting heat treatment processes on metals and alloys to alter their physical and mechanical properties.
  • Continuously monitor the heat treatment processes to ensure they meet specified job requirements and safety regulations.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain heat-treating equipment including: Furnaces, Quenching systems.
  • Perform heat treatment processes such as: Annealing, Hardening, Tempering.
  • Examine finished products for defects and ensure they conform to specifications, conducting quality control tests, as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of processes and results.
  • Knowledge of the Nadcap requirements.
  • Ability to interact with auditors and demonstrate understanding of specifications and have the ability to execute work instructions.
  • Absorb and develop heat treatment procedures and techniques to improve efficiency and product quality.
  • Understand heat treatment principles and metallurgy for altering material properties effectively.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Utilize strong attention to detail to ensure processes are followed accurately and products meet quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot issues that arise during the heat treatment process and implement effective solutions.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and specifications (e.g., BAC standards).
  • Comfortable working with technical documentation such as product tech sheets and process guidelines.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
  • Effective communication, problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, climb, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
  • Endure exposure to heat, dust, noise, humidity, and fumes.
  • Willingness to work non-standard hours (2nd shift).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have a clear understanding of heat treatment principles and metallurgy.
  • Ability to set up, operate, and maintain heat-treating equipment, as well as read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Certification or a degree in a related field.
