About the role
The Machine Fabricator supports the Plant Manager by fabricating, assembling, and insulating machinery, repairing hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, mechanical, and electrical systems, and performing quality work checks.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate components using various tools and equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work orders, charts, and diagrams
- Use hoists, drills, hand tools, holding devices, cutters, power tools, and welding equipment
- Test run machines and observe operations
- Perform inspections including pressure and flow tests
- Change worn machine accessories
- Rework and repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specifications
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area
- Work assigned shifts, including overtime and after-hour meetings
Requirements
- High school diploma / GED
- Associates Degree or technical certificate preferred
- Experience: 1-3 years preferred
- Knowledge: Tools, materials, methods, reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, work orders, charts, and diagrams, use of thinking and reasoning to solve problems, ability to work from drawings and manuals, ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly, ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem, ability to get along with other employees and work well as an individual or on a team, high attention to detail and self-motivation skills
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma / GED, Associates Degree or technical certificate preferred

Physical Demands
- Lift and carry up to 40 pounds
- Regularly sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, talk or hear, stand and walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop/crouch, bend or twist, occasionally push, pull, and/or move material, work in awkward positions, such as underneath equipment, or working around machines in operations area
Work Environment
The work environment is typical of most manufacturing environments. The noise level in the work environment is usually high with ear protection required as posted.
