Fabrication Maintenance Mechanic - 1st Shift

About the role

As a Fabrication Maintenance Mechanic, you will assist the maintenance department and/or mechanics by repairing, modifying, designing, laying out, or fabricating (with or without blueprints) electrical and electronic components and equipment used in various pieces of equipment or devices. You will also assist mechanics in production repairs, installations, and removals of equipment.

Responsibilities

• Repairs, modifies, designs, lays out, or fabricates (with or without blueprints).
• Cuts, fits, and welds metal using gas and electric welding equipment; performs skilled brazing and soldering; and uses a variety of machines, such as power saws, grinders, and drills, in completing work.
• Interpret prints, drawings, plans, or job write-ups and apply fabrication or welding techniques to complete projects.
• Aid mechanics in production repairs/installation, and removal of equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Perform special projects/duties as assigned by the maintenance supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, and do advanced math.
• Detail-oriented and well-organized.
• Able to change from one task to another frequently.
• Able to lift weights up to 50 pounds.
• Operational knowledge of common hand, power, and industrial tools.
• Maintain equipment and do basic repairs as needed.
• Available to work on required Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Experience in fabrication maintenance, building maintenance, preventative maintenance, and/or basic fabrication is a plus.
