Fabrication Generalist - First Shift

About the role

ITW/FEG Cooking/Steam Business Unit is seeking a Fabrication Generalist for their Troy, Ohio manufacturing site. This dual position is responsible for spot and stud welding, and metal finishing operations including vibratory, deburring, grinding and weld cleaning. Must be able to prioritize work to ensure parts are moved through the process by due dates.

Responsibilities

• Metal Finishing: Operate a multiple machine bank of vibratory, deburring, grinding and weld cleaning to produce a good cosmetic appearance on parts; prepare parts for required operations, deburring and weld cleaning, remove weld splatter; operate pedestal belt sander to grind welds; make minor adjustments to vibratory equipment.
• Spot Welding: Plan and perform a wide range of spot and stud welding operations on various parts and fabrications of steel, stainless steel and other materials; set-ups using fixtures, some layout work required or work positioned by hand; select electrodes according to thickness of metal, location and type of weld; work from drawings, shop orders, and verbal instructions.
• Attendance is an essential function; work overtime as scheduled to meet customer expectations.

• Ability to select electrodes according to metal thickness, location, and weld type.
• Physical requirements: manufacturing environment; periods of hot/cold environment; may occasionally move material up to 50 lbs.; high frequency welding area; steel/composite toed shoes and safety glasses required; hearing protection required in some areas; may require climbing to reach top of machine; prolonged standing, sitting, bending, stooping throughout shift.

Pay

Position starts at $19.95 per hour; tops out at $24.94 per hour after 6 months.
