Fabricating Supervisor

About the role

PCA is a Fortune 500 company specializing in corrugated packaging and white paper solutions. As a Fabricating Supervisor, you will oversee machines and personnel involved in finishing activities such as folding, gluing, waxing, stripping, and bundling. This role ensures efficient and safe shift operations within the fabrication department.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the Production Manager and Shift Supervisor to plan and manage shift work orders, ensure quality requirements, and maintain an even workflow to increase uptime and minimize unscheduled downtime.
• Schedule work, coordinate production activities, and provide direct oversight of employees.
• Approve time records and communicate and implement company policy.
• Engage in employee development, including hiring, promotion, and disciplinary recommendations.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and injury-free work environment by ensuring health and safety procedures are followed.
• Conduct ongoing employee training on equipment, protocols, production standards, safety regulations, and waste control.
• Ensure departmental operations align with continuous improvement policies.
• Supervise equipment operation, inspect materials, products, and equipment to detect and prevent malfunctions.
• Analyze fabricating performance, identify improvement opportunities, establish goals, and execute strategies.
• Participate in production meetings and provide updates as needed.
• Verify job quality and investigate customer complaints regarding finishing quality.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of corrugated manufacturing experience.
• Ability to work flexible hours when needed.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications

• Some college or manufacturing training.
• Previous supervisory experience with training, teambuilding, performance development, and conflict resolution.

Skills

• Working knowledge of corrugated and packaging manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures, including continual improvement processes and safety practices.
• Familiarity with machinery, methods, and procedures in the department under supervision.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing systems, including shop floor software.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle numerous details, deadlines, and requests.
• Strong interpersonal skills to effectively lead and communicate with production teams and management.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple projects concurrently.
• Solid analytical and mechanical ability.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience as a team member or understanding of the importance of open communication and information sharing.

Pay

Starting salary range: $86,240 - $129,360. Annual bonus based on individual contribution and company performance.
