Fabric Receiving Clerk

About the role

Williams‑Sonoma’s Distribution Centers connect factories with retail, online, and mail‑order customers worldwide. The Fabric Receiving Clerk role is based in Claremont, NC and reports to Pamela Sue Canary (Department 3991). This full‑time, non‑exempt position operates on a Monday‑Thursday shift and involves receiving, verifying, and handling fabric products in a fast‑paced warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive product and verify product from a packing list.
• Unload vendor trucks and containers.
• Read and identify numbers on fabric rolls.
• Perform flexible assignments on the receiving dock.
• Use RF scanners to locate fabric.
• Perform multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment to assure delivery requirements.
• Work as part of a team; teamwork is essential.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in a receiving department.
• Knowledge of distribution computer systems (WMS & OMS).
• Computer and Microsoft Office experience.
• Standard warehouse operation experience.
• Organized and detail‑oriented.
• Ability to keep accurate records and follow documented procedures and standards.
• Forklift experience and certification.
• Good vision with or without corrective lenses.
• Good communication skills (oral and written).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent time‑management skills, including ability to work independently with little supervision.
