Fab Operator - 2nd Shift - Salina

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

• Set up, tend and operate fabricating machines such as cutoff saws, shears, roller, brakes, presses, forming machines, spinningmachines, punch machines, laser cutting, CNC plasma, etc. that cut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures.
• Review engineering releases and create press brake programming as needed.
• Determine proper press brake tooling to use on all operations.
• Create DAVI Roller programs and assist operators as needed.
• Understand, modify and create G Codes for AMADA CNC Turret Punch Press.
• Measure work piece dimensions with varying measuring devices to determine accuracy of machine operation.
• Remove burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from work piece.
• Perform minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or work pieces.
• Follow all Great Plains policies and OSHA safety regulations and wears prescribed safety and protective equipment.

Preferred Skill And Qualifications

• One to three years experience as a fabrication operator or similar.
• Strong understanding of computer functions and various software.
• Must be able to read prints and understand all press brake operations.
• Must have strong math skills, including proficiency with fractions and decimals.
