About the role
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality classroom instruction to a wide variety of developmental air traffic control students.
Responsibilities
- Conduct and administer Course 50043, Air Traffic Basics (Terminal)
- Conduct and administer Course 50143, Air Traffic Basics (En Route)
- Conduct and administer Course 50043001 Air Traffic Basics TRACON
- Participate in the conduct or administration of Human Performance for ATC (HPATC) or other courses
- Participate in ISD projects, including the development, revision, and maintenance of ATC Training Courses
Requirements
- Be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
- Have 3 years of experience as a certified flight instructor, OR
- Have an instrument-rated pilot plus have a minimum of 3 years of experience as an instructor in an equivalent position, OR
- Have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a facility certified Air Traffic Control Specialist (ATCS) in either a U.S. Civilian or U.S. Military Air Traffic Control (ATC) facility plus have a minimum of 3 years of experience as an instructor in an equivalent position
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required
Skills
- Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with FAA personnel at all levels
- Excellent teaching and/or platform skills
- Classroom management techniques
- A student-focused drive for continuous improvement

ATTENTION FERS RETIREES Earnings received as an ATC Instructor, ATC Training Instructional Supervisor, or Contractor Site Supervisor working on this program are EXEMPT from the Supplemental Annuity earnings limits for FERS retirees between the ages of 56 and 62.
