About the Role
Pratt & Whitney Hot Section Engineering (HSE) is seeking a highly motivated, goal-oriented, and detail-focused engineer to join its team. This position requires demonstrated leadership, excellent communication skills, and a strong foundation in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. The ideal candidate will champion key transformation initiatives and identify new ways to improve project task execution for the F135 Program.
Hot Section Engineering is responsible for the design, development, technology maturation, and in-service support of diffuser cases, combustors, turbines (vanes, blades, rotors, and cases), augmenters (military), nozzles, and associated fuel systems for all military, commercial, and industrial engine models and radial auxiliary power units.
Responsibilities
- Lead Project Tasks for an Integrated Product Team (IPT) consisting of cross-functional members from project, design, structures, and aerodynamics teams.
- Communicate the status of technical issues and budgets to Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT) leaders, HSE leadership, internal program offices, and external customers.
- Collaborate with purchasing, suppliers, customer support, and sustainment organizations to support engine deliveries and address field challenges.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
- 2+ years of relevant engineering experience with a bachelor’s degree.
Preferred Qualifications
- BS Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
- Advanced proficiency in Project Planning, schedules, and prior EVMS/CAM (Earned Value Management System / Control Account Management) experience.
- Familiarity with Pratt & Whitney Project tools and procedures.
- Familiarity with Gas Turbine hardware.
- Demonstrated leadership in engineering continuous improvement, strong communication, interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to apply for a security clearance after the start date (active clearance not required).
Pay
The salary range for this role is $68,900 – $131,100 USD. The range is representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
