About the role
The F&B Support Staff role is a dynamic, cross-functional position designed to elevate service standards across all Food & Beverage outlets, including dining rooms, poolside service, bars, and event spaces. This role ensures all support functions—hosting, bussing, food running, and bar backing—are executed at a high standard, allowing service teams to operate efficiently and consistently.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a proactive, team-first mindset: "How can I help?"
- Provide coverage for 10-minute breaks and 30-minute meal periods
- Ensure all service areas meet cleanliness and presentation standards
- Anticipate operational needs and respond quickly to service demands
- Support both à la carte dining and private events as needed
- Communicate effectively with FOH and BOH teams to ensure smooth service flow
- Active participation in events, programs, meetings, and training
- Represent the club in a professional manner through image, dress, communication, and immediate follow-through and response
Qualifications
- Minimum one (1) year of Customer Service experience (food service industry experience preferred)
- Demonstrated proficiency in Host, Busser, Food Runner, and Barback duties
- State Food Handler Certification
- Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) state certification
- Professional, friendly manner and excellent customer service attitude and abilities
- Strong verbal communication and conflict resolution skills
- Enthusiastic, responsible, and dependable team player
- Self-motivated, takes initiative, anticipates the needs of others, and willing to acquire new skills
- Well organized, detail oriented, and high cleanliness standards
Skills
- Ability to read/understand, analyze, and interpret general training manuals, professional journals, or technical procedures
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from children, managers, Associates, members, and the public
- Ability to identify problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
Pre- and Post-Shift
- Set up host stands, expo areas, service stations and event setup
- Stock condiments, napkins, utensils, and service supplies
- Ensure dining areas, bars, and service stations meet outlet standards
- Assist with buffet maintenance
- Participate in pre-service meetings
- Review menu updates, service notes, and event details
- Align with team on staffing and operational priorities
- Break down and cleaning of service stations, bars, dining and event stations
- Restock and reset for the next service period
- Complete polishing, stocking, and sanitation duties
- Ensure all areas are left in clean, organized, and operational condition
Host Support
- Greet members and guests with professionalism and warmth
- Manage reservations, waitlists, and table assignments
- Coordinate seating flow based on service capacity
- Support guest inquiries and ensure smooth transitions to service staff
Food Runner / Expo Support
- Deliver food promptly and accurately from kitchen/expo to guests
- Ensure proper presentation and correct table placement
- Communicate with kitchen and service staff regarding timing and special requests
- Restock expo lines and maintain cleanliness of the pass
- Assist with light polishing, roll-ups, and station readiness during slower periods
Bussing Support
- Clear and reset tables efficiently to maintain table turn times
- Transport dishes, glassware, and linens to appropriate areas
- Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, including floors, chairs, and surrounding spaces
- Reset tables to outlet-specific standards
- Support servers with guest needs (water refills, extra settings, etc.)
Bar Back Support
- Maintain bar cleanliness and organization throughout service
- Restock glassware, ice, garnishes, and bar products
- Aid bartenders with replenishment of spirits, beer, and wine
- Ensure bar stations remain fully stocked and service-ready
- Support glass polishing and bar breakdown at end of shift
Break Coverage
- Rotate into roles to ensure all staff receive compliant meal and rest breaks
- Maintain seamless service levels during team member absences
