About the role
This role ensures that standards are met regarding staff uniforms, quality of service/food, timeliness of food, guest relations, and maintains a comfortable atmosphere in the room. Key responsibilities include conducting pre-shift meetings, assisting staff, and managing various operational tasks.
Responsibilities
- Ensure staff uniforms meet standards and food quality/service is up to house of blues entertainment (HOBE) standards.
- Support staff in their job functions as needed.
- Manage schedules, handle voids, closing comps, and liquor pulls.
- Handle cash transactions and maintain safety and sanitation standards.
- Communicate with special events department to ensure proper staffing and event execution.
- Conduct performance counseling and ensure discipline follows guidelines.
- Train hourly staff members.
Requirements
- Tips and RAMP/Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training Certification or equivalent.
- 3 years supervisory experience in high-volume restaurant/live entertainment environments.
- Working knowledge of restaurant and bar operations.
- Entry-level knowledge of state, federal, and local liquor laws, retail operations, and computers (Microsoft Office).
- Leadership, guest relations, decision-making, and staff schedule maintenance skills.
- Positive interaction with staff and guests, prioritization, organization, motivation, problem-solving, delegation, follow-up, communication, and conflict resolution.
- High school diploma preferred, some college or degree preferred.
Physical Demands/Working Environment
The position requires extended periods of standing and working on feet. Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs using proper lifting techniques.
