Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage staff in the Food & Beverage Front of House (FOH) department.
- Develop, implement, and manage operational goals, performance objectives, and profit targets.
- Create efficient schedules while maintaining labor costs, meeting staffing objectives, and ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Assist in the budget process, provide recommendations, ensure compliance, and report concerns to management.
- Promote and demonstrate superior customer service in alignment with company standards; address customer service issues as they arise.
- Oversee the achievement of departmental customer service goals.
- Develop and implement staff training and development programs.
- Manage rewards and recognition programs to maximize employee engagement.
- Maintain cost control through consistent inventory and pars monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with health department and customer service standards.
- Oversee scheduling, breaks, floor plans, training, evaluations, and counseling for team members.
- Enforce all gaming laws and regulations applicable to the Food & Beverage Department.
- Administer front-of-house restaurant and beverage operations, including training programs.
- Ensure facilities are adequate for assigned personnel to perform their duties.
- Instruct and maintain safety policies and procedures; follow up to eliminate hazards.
- Monitor food presentation and address deviations from standards.
- Ensure regulatory compliance within the area of responsibility and report potential issues to executive management.
- Maintain strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Oversee staff development and training programs.
- Implement rewards and recognition programs to enhance employee engagement.
- Evaluate team members and provide constructive feedback on performance.
- Determine staffing needs, including interviewing, hiring, and scheduling to meet business demands.
- Direct workflow and expedite processes as needed.
- Manage employee performance, including disciplining, coaching, and counseling.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent from a four-year college or university; or four years of related supervisory/managerial experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous supervisory experience in a full-service or high-volume restaurant preferred.
- Ability to interact diplomatically with guests, staff, and colleagues to resolve problems and conflicts.
- Proficiency in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, compute rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret bar graphs.
- Flexibility to work all shifts, including holidays, nights, weekends, and overtime as business needs dictate.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook programs.
- Excellent motivational, communication, and customer service skills.
Skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certifications & Licenses
Must qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Frequently required to reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel, and balance in varying work areas, including confined spaces.
Work Environment
- Moderate noise level in the work environment.
- Potential exposure to an environment containing unrestricted second-hand tobacco smoke.
Pay
Starting salary: $60,000 to $70,000.
