About the role

The F-35 Support Equipment (SE) Field Supervisor position at Edwards AFB, CA, provides supervisory oversight to a team of roughly 3 employees supporting F-35 SE sustainment. Key managerial functions include daily engagement with employees, conducting performance reviews, approving timecard submittals, planning staffing actions, hosting employee engagement discussions, mentoring employees, liaising with HR representatives, and managing maintenance logs.

Responsibilities

  • Daily delegation of team members to execute daily work requirements and perform occasional nonstandard maintenance on equipment.
  • Oversee and manage/maintain appropriate maintenance, inventory, and repair logs.
  • Use a variety of hand, power, and test equipment to document maintenance actions in the Logistics Management System.
  • Conduct familiarization of equipment theory and operation to new employees and customers.
  • Participate in equipment training classes and short-term regional deployments in support of customer flight test operations.
  • Become familiarized with the full spectrum of the F-35 SE product line, current operational processes, and procedures for field operations sites.
  • Adapt to the constantly changing operational characteristics of the F-35 SE Sustainment operation as program needs mature.

Requirements

  • Frequent lifting/pulling/pushing of equipment over 50 lbs.
  • Able to acquire and maintain a local flightline drivers certification.
  • Willing and able to support operations on both First Shift or Second Shift, depending on shop/customer needs.

Qualifications

  • Managerial background in military or civilian ground support equipment sustainment operations.
  • Hands-on Aerospace Ground Support Equipment maintenance experience or commensurate related experience.
  • Proficient using MS Office Software including Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word & Outlook.
  • Familiar with work conditions on military flightline environments.
  • Knowledge of industry standard maintenance practices.
  • Knowledge of industrial and aircraft maintenance safety standards.
  • DoD Secret security clearance, active.

  • Highly computer literate.
  • Experience using engineering drawings and technical data.
