About the role
HII’s Mission Technologies Division is seeking an F-35 Fighter-In-A-Box (FIAB) Software Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team supporting integration efforts within the Modeling, Simulation, and Training environment at the Joint Integrated Test and Training Center – Nellis (JITTC-N), located at Nellis AFB, NV.
Responsibilities
- Provide on-site support of 31st Combat Training Squadron’s Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) training systems located at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada.
- This role is a member of JSE Engineering Team and will focus primarily on the troubleshooting, configuration, optimization, and development of the F-35 FIAB for advanced synthetic test and training environments within JSE at the JITTC-N.
- This will include, but are not limited to:
- Support JSE F-35 FIAB Daily Operations by monitoring simulator system performance.
- Troubleshoot JSE F-35 FIAB issues by reviewing FIAB source code and/or JSE Platform Plugin source code.
- Developing enhancements and optimizing existing F-35 FIAB simulator system.
- Integration of F-35 FIAB other platforms.
- Develop and assist with accurately reporting F-35 FIAB and JPP to deficiencies.
Requirements
- 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
- Candidate must have experience in Software Development and Software Design.
- Candidate must have proficiency working in a Linux command-line environment.
- Candidate must have strong communication, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills working independently and as part of a technical team.
- Candidate must demonstrate strong work ethic and initiative to troubleshoot, address, and prevent problems on complex tasks and systems.
- Candidate must have had an active Top Secret security clearance within the last 24 months.
- Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance and relevant SAP/SAR clearances.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
- Experience in Software Development and Software Design.
- Proficiency working in a Linux command-line environment.
- Strong communication, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills working independently and as part of a technical team.
- Strong work ethic and initiative to troubleshoot, address, and prevent problems on complex tasks and systems.

Skills
- Software Development Experience in F-35 FIAB source code, JSE Platform Plugin source code, or related experience.
- Knowledge and/or experience with components of JSE or DoD training simulators.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other productivity products.
- Candidates with math, computer science, engineering, operational research, or equivalent technical degree.
