Extrusion Supervisor

About the role

The Extrusion Supervisor is responsible for leading daily manufacturing operations within the extrusion department to ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality production of products. This position supervises production employees, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct extrusion personnel on assigned shift
• Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards
• Monitor extrusion processes and equipment performance to minimize downtime and scrap
• Train, coach, and develop team members on work practices, safety requirements, and quality expectations
• Conduct daily shift meetings and communicate production goals and performance metrics
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, performance management, and corrective action processes
• Analyze production data and implement continuous improvement initiatives
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality, Material Handling, and other departments to resolve operational issues
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, OSHA requirements, and environmental regulations
• Maintain accurate production records and reports

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred
• 3–5 years of manufacturing leadership experience, preferably in extrusion or plastics manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, safety programs, and quality systems
• Experience leading teams in a fast-paced production environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and production reporting systems
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills

Physical requirements

• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to walk, stand, bend, and lift within company guidelines
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and overtime as needed
