Extrusion Operator Assistant

About the role

Join the IPG team as a Cast Line Assistant, where you’ll play a key role in the safe and efficient operation of cast line equipment. This position supports the production of innovative packaging and protective solutions while contributing to a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Safely start up and operate cast line equipment, including engaging the feed and monitoring operations.
• Assist in the changeover process to ensure smooth transitions between production runs.
• Inspect and measure completed pieces to verify conformity to customer production standards.
• Monitor and adjust controls to maintain product compliance with production standards.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to assistants and helpers with clear, precise instructions when assigned.
• Maintain equipment by completing assigned preventative maintenance tasks and minor repairs.
• Record quality and production metrics accurately and within deadlines.
• Perform all work with a safety-first mentality and apply IPS lean manufacturing skills.
• Complete related tasks as requested by supervisors.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Intermediate math skills and proficiency in written English communication.
• General computer knowledge and experience handling paperwork.
• Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours at a time.
• Capability to work in space-limited areas continuously.
• Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs consistently.
• Commitment to performing physical aspects of the role safely and following injury prevention practices.
