We’re seeking a skilled Extrusion Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you'll set up, operate, and maintain extrusion equipment in alignment with our quality, safety, and production standards.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate extrusion machines according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), schedules, and order specifications. Coordinate with setup operators during teardowns and new setups.
- Continuously monitor machines, materials, and environmental conditions to detect issues and ensure smooth operation. Make real-time adjustments as needed.
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet customer and internal quality standards. Document all findings and take corrective action when necessary.
- Accurately record production data and follow all required documentation protocols.
- Perform basic maintenance and cleaning tasks to maintain machine efficiency and workplace safety (5S practices). Support general upkeep of the production area.
- Follow all company safety protocols, SOPs, Control Plans, and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) to ensure a safe work environment.
- Operate forklifts and powered hand trucks to load materials and transport finished goods.
- Perform operator-level preventive maintenance on machines and tools.
- Support the team with additional tasks, including training new employees and assisting with process improvements.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 3-5 years of industrial experience preferred.
- OSHA-certified forklift operation experience (stand-up and walk-behind trucks).
- Basic mechanical aptitude with experience using hand/power tools and measuring instruments (tape measure, caliper & micrometer).
- Understanding of raw materials, production flow, and quality control practices.
- Computer proficiency, especially in M3 systems or similar ERP platforms.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety.
Pay
The salary range for this position is $24.23 per hour. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
