Extrusion Department Manager

Responsibilities

• Comply with procedures found in the SMS Manual and perform all job duties using safe work methods.
• Adhere to corporate absenteeism and tardiness policies, working normally scheduled days.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.
• Directly supervise Process Engineers and Shift Supervisors in the Extrusion Department.
• Contribute to safety, quality, productivity, people, and technical performance metrics.
• Motivate supervisors to ensure consistent, fair treatment of employees.
• Maintain updated performance metrics within the department.
• Develop, manage, and monitor extrusion housekeeping, quality, productivity, facility grounds, and department safety.
• Monitor trials and SYR’s in the Extrusion and supporting departments.
• Ensure machinery operates within SPC and product specifications.
• Meet daily with Shift Supervisors to communicate new department information.
• Coordinate support for the Extrusion Department through work orders, memos, and verbal communication.
• Attend meetings concerning department or plant matters as needed.
• Manage employee concerns and issues within the department.
• Comply with the contractor safety program.
• Maintain the Product Mix Schedule.
• Remain accountable for Department Equipment Reliability Performance using TPM and Lean principles.
• Maintain favorable and effective relations among employees.
• Establish documented job assignment protocols.
• Maintain fair and balanced accountability for department objectives.

Requirements

• Four-year college degree.
• At least one year of experience in manufacturing leadership or equivalent.

Schedule

8-hour non-rotating shift, starting in the AM, following the observed company calendar.
