About the Role

Responsible for assisting in the operation of assigned converting machine(s) ensuring product adheres to company standards of safety, quality, and throughput.

Responsibilities

• Support, demonstrate, and promote Pregis’ core values: integrity, collaboration, customer focus, and innovation.
• Adhere to the highest standards of company safety programs, guidelines, rules, and regulations including all personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
• Maintain housekeeping throughout assigned shift to ensure an orderly and safe environment.
• Perform physical and visual inspection of product to prevent non-conforming goods; promptly report all quality defects to the appropriate team members.
• Maintain appropriate level of production supplies/materials to ensure next shift personnel incur minimal downtime.
• Continuously monitor machine operation to ensure accurate product measurements and quality are maintained.
• Meet or exceed production rates, minimize waste levels, and meet all customer requirements.
• Focus on downstream winder, ensuring that product is allocated properly.
• Occasionally assist Operator with entering production reporting data into machine computer accurately.
• Separate scrap by color coding appropriately.
• Operate core cutting machine, vacuum lift, and pallet jack.
• Acquire knowledge/skills of Machine Operator to better assist and troubleshoot when needed.
• Attend meetings and complete safety trainings as required.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Work Environment

• Exposure to moving equipment.
• Inside work; heat may exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit, humidity may exceed 80%.
• Noise may exceed 85dB.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, stooping, squatting (up to 75% of the time).
• Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling (up to 50 lbs).
• Occasional typing/keyboarding/preparing documents; voice-assisted as needed.

Schedule

Full-time shift work (Continental Shift, 2-week cycle, 12-hour shifts 6PM-6AM). Overtime expected per business demand.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred.
