About the role
Perform tasks necessary to efficiently control the operation of an extrusion line from raw material input to finished product.
Schedule
- Rotating 12-hour shifts
- Day Shift: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Night Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area/warehouse.
- Maintain a safe working environment by following all company safety policies and procedures; report unsafe conditions and incidents.
- Uphold company quality standards.
- Operate the extrusion line, including:
- Machine set-up
- Handling films and resins, color concentrates, and/or additives
- Adjusting production speeds (input or output)
- Start and stop functions
- Changeover, downtime management
- Die and screw tear-down
- Screen pack maintenance
- Use of line-specific tools and proper lock-out/tag-out procedures
- Maintain extruded product specifications for gauge, length, width, bond strength, color, dyne, and surface finish; identify defects and perform required quality control tests, including double-check and data collection procedures.
- Transfer data to the daily production logbook, quality control documents, or other production forms.
- Follow the production schedule and related documents to meet customer orders, including those with special instructions.
- Communicate line malfunctions promptly to minimize production downtime.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent and/or 1–2 years of experience, or a forklift certification.
- Ability to read production tickets.
- Ability to work at an accelerated pace.
- Ability to perform math calculations and measure using tools such as measuring tape.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer literacy.
- Dedication to continuous improvement.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, bend, stretch, or stand for extended periods.
