Extruder Operator 7pm - 7am

Position Description

Title: Cast Line Operator
Department: Operations
Immediate Supervisor: Plant Supervisory Staff
Status: Hourly

Position Purpose

Operates the Cast Line
Principle Accountabilities:

• Safe, controlled start-up and operation of the cast line extruder and process equipment
• Engaging the feed, observing the operation, and managing changeover process
• Maintaining blending system including mix recipes
• Inspecting and measuring completed pieces to verify conformity to customer production standards
• Monitoring and adjusting controls to ensure product complies with production standards
• Supervising and instructing line assistant in all production based tasks
• Maintaining equipment through completion of assigned preventative maintenance tasks and minor repair techniques as required
• Recording quality and production metrics via written communication methods and within time deadlines as necessary
• Performing all work in a safety first mentality and with utilization of IPS lean manufacturing skills

Essential Skills And Experience

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 2+ Years in a Manufacturing Environment with experience in Extrusion required.
• Intermediate math skills and English written communication skills necessary.
• Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours at a time required.
• Ability to regularly lift large lightweight items above head required.
• Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs on a consistent basis.
