About the role

We are one of the nation’s largest blow molding companies and a leading supplier of rigid plastic packaging solutions to national, regional, and local customers across North America. As a Production Machine Operator, you will operate a variety of production equipment, including blow-mold machines, grinders, trimmer machines, and conveyor systems. Prior experience with these specific machines is not necessary—if you have a strong background operating equipment, we can teach you what you need to know.

Responsibilities

  • Operate blow-mold machines (including wheels, reciprocating, or shuttle machines) to ensure production of quality bottles
  • Perform audits, weights, and quality checks
  • Adhere to quality control, blow mold process procedure, and Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Make adjustments to meet product specifications
  • Repair or replace pneumatic and hydraulic lines
  • Assist with preventive maintenance, mold, neck and blow pin, and other mechanical changes
  • Grind excess bottle and material
  • Troubleshoot and resolve process problems
  • Prepare maintenance request forms and document equipment repairs
  • Train blow-mold employees as required
  • Prepare and document daily reports, including rejects, regrinds, and line efficiencies
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards and with applicable laws and regulations issued by regulatory agencies
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); associate’s degree preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in the field or in a related area
  • Ability to recommend process improvements
  • Commitment to safe work practices
  • Solid English language skills
  • Desire to learn
  • Apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty preferred
