About the role
Assist in the extraction lab where the company produces concentrated marijuana products. The lab is a multi-faceted environment involving formulation of marijuana concentrates, preparation and filling for packaging, material preparation for extraction, and general cleaning and maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Carry out routine tasks accurately and strictly following SOPs.
- Follow and ensure strict safety procedures and safety checks.
- Prepare marijuana biomass for extraction.
- Load and unload extraction machines.
- Formulate marijuana concentrates.
- Perform filling and packaging processes and procedures.
- Record processing data.
- Follow cleaning schedule/regimen.
- Ensure all workspaces are well-stocked and resourced.
- Keep laboratory supplies ready by inventorying stock and notifying supervisors if orders are needed.
- Maintain supplies by picking up, cleaning, washing, sterilizing, inventorying, and distributing.
- Keep filling and packaging equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshoot breakdowns; maintain supplies; inform supervisors of the need for, and assist with, repairs.
- Assist and contribute to the continued development of changing internal processes for the department.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be able to obtain a state medical marijuana badge and pass a background check.
- Ability to use standard office equipment, computer equipment, and software including word processing, database management (BioTrack, Metrc, etc.), spreadsheet applications, and electronic mail.
- Ability to resolve problems by examining and evaluating data and selecting corrective steps.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to express ideas clearly and concisely in written and verbal formats.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and management, and to approach conflict or disagreement constructively.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Must be able to understand and work within the strict confines of the laws set forth by the state with regard to its legal medical program.
- Understanding of the variety of tasks required in working in a lab or manufacturing setting.
- Ability to work independently, manage projects, and meet deadlines.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years’ experience in a regulated industry is preferred, but not mandatory.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations.
- Lifting, standing, sitting, walking, bending, reaching, push/pull, repetitive use of hands, grasping use of hands, visual activity.
- Exposure to hazardous chemicals and gases.
