About the role

The Surgical Innovation Training Laboratory is seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Extra Help Medical Laboratory Assistant I to support the day-to-day operations of our laboratory. This position is not eligible for benefits.

Responsibilities

• Washing and sterilizing laboratory glassware and instruments using appropriate cleaning material.
• Operating an autoclave following established procedures.
• Receiving, stocking, and organizing laboratory materials, ordering supplies when necessary.
• Cleaning and maintaining laboratory equipment.
• Preparing laboratory areas and equipment for procedures or training activities.
• Maintaining records, logs, and documentation.
• Disposing of laboratory waste according to established protocols.
• Managing the lab’s front desk paperwork, forms, reports and documentation.
• Assisting with maintaining a clean and safe laboratory environment.
• Following the indications of the Lab Manager daily.
• Performing other related duties and participating in special projects as assigned.

Schedule

• 40 hours per week.
• Includes some weekends when events are scheduled at the laboratory.

Pay

The rate of pay for this position is $19.91 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
