Hours: 3.75 hours per day, 4 days per week, 144 days per year

About the role
To provide safe and efficient transportation for District students.
Responsibilities
- Obeys all traffic laws.
- Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
- Maintains student discipline on the bus.
- Keeps assigned bus cleaned, including all vision mirrors, windows, and the inside of the bus.
- Adheres to route, stops, and schedule as determined by the immediate supervisor.
- Reports all accidents and completes the required reports.
- Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or safety problems.
- Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of-District school trips.
- Transports only authorized students and District Employees.
- Performs the daily pre-trip safety inspection of the bus.
- Enforces District bus safety rules.
- Performs other tasks related to area of responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Current physical examination as required by CDL.
- Completion of District/State training course.
- Valid Nevada Commercial Driver License with Passenger & School Bus endorsements.
- Ability to pass State and Federal criminal background check.
- Compliance with NCSD Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy.
- Successful completion of a thorough background check and mandatory pre-employment drug & alcohol testing.
Skills
- Ability to pass required medical examinations.
- Ability to learn relevant regulations and rules.
- Ability to work cooperatively with students, staff, parents, and the general public.
- Recognizes and reports hazards, conforms to safety standards as prescribed.
- Familiar with and understands FERPA, HIPAA, and other confidentiality requirements in an educational setting.
- Familiarity with and ability to support the implementation of district policies and administrative regulations related to assigned duties.
- Ability to recognize and report safety hazards and unauthorized individuals on campus, and respond appropriately to incidents requiring immediate attention.
- Awareness of and participation in district and school emergency response procedures, including fire drills, lockdowns, evacuations, and other safety protocols.
Pay
Salary Range: $20.10 to $24.21 per hour
Schedule
This position is for the 2026-2027 school year.
