We are a growing insurance firm looking for a detail-oriented professional to help build our finance team from the ground up.

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic, dedicated External Reporting Manager to oversee all aspects of external financial reporting, including GAAP, Statutory Accounting Principles, and insurance reporting requirements. This permanent position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation and review of all external financial reports, including quarterly and annual reports, in compliance with GAAP, Statutory Accounting Principles, and insurance reporting requirements.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial statement preparation, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Manage the audit process and liaise with external auditors to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Utilize knowledge of the Bluebook to manage and oversee all aspects of insurance reporting.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with reinsurance partners and manage the fronting agreement process.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure all financial data is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A master’s degree or CPA certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial reporting, with a strong emphasis on GAAP and Statutory Accounting Principles.
  • Proven experience in insurance reporting requirements and financial statement preparation.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Bluebook and experience with fronting agreement processes.
  • Exceptional audit skills, with the ability to manage the audit process effectively.
  • Strong relationships with reinsurance partners and a proven track record of successful collaboration.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and maintain high-quality results.
  • High proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Excel, and familiarity with accounting software.

Pay

$120,000 - $140,000 per year
