External Communications Lead

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a External Communications Lead to join the team of a leader in the Enterprise Technology space. This role will shape and deliver external communications that strengthen brand visibility, support launches, and help tell compelling customer and market stories. You will partner closely with internal stakeholders and outside agencies to ensure messaging is clear, consistent, and aligned to business priorities. The position also requires translating complex technical topics into accessible narratives for media and other key audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute communications strategies to enhance the company's visibility
• Build relationships with journalists and influencers in MarTech and tech
• Lead media outreach for news, launches, and customer stories
• Collaborate with teams to create clear and consistent messaging
• Draft and edit press releases and other media content
• Translate complex technical topics into engaging narratives
• Manage PR agencies, ensuring alignment with priorities and budget
• Analyze media coverage and report on communications effectiveness

Qualifications

• 7+ years in public relations or corporate communications
• Experience working both in-house and at a PR agency
• Familiarity with digital experience platforms, CMS, or MarTech
• Strong media relations with existing press contacts in business and tech
• Exceptional writing and editing skills for diverse content types
• Proven track record in managing teams and agency relationships
• Strong executive presence and ability to engage with senior stakeholders

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $110,000 – $130,000 annually
