Job Summary

You will gain invaluable hands-on clinical experience, working alongside experienced Registered Nurses to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional practice. You will assist the nursing staff with basic patient care activities, including vital sign measurements, personal care, ambulation, and documentation, under direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assists with basic patient care activities, including vital sign measurements, personal care, ambulation, and documentation, under direct supervision.
• Performs personal care as needed.
• Calculates intake and output accurately.
• Performs simple tests such as bedside glucose monitoring.
• Demonstrates nursing skills such as oral and tracheal suctioning, ostomy care, insertion of nasogastric tubes, care of tube feeding, insertion and discontinuation of urinary catheters, and drain care.
• Demonstrates proper safety techniques and body mechanics.
• Demonstrates proper principles of infection control and sterile techniques.
• Demonstrates proper procedures for medication administration.

Job Requirements

• Must be within at least one year of graduating from an accredited school of nursing, and must be enrolled and in good standing at the school of nursing.
• Basic Life Support - CPR; American Heart Association (AHA).
