About the Role

The Exterior Installation Horticulture Technician is responsible for installing Botanical Designs exterior landscape accounts efficiently and professionally. Additional duties may be assigned to ensure high-quality service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Exceed clients’ expectations by providing professional, courteous, and efficient service.
  • Maintain a positive, solution-oriented approach while communicating with team members.
  • Project a professional company image through appearance, hygiene, and uniform.
  • Use proper verbiage and demonstrate effective communication by:
    • Wearing an operational cell phone daily and reporting issues to a Supervisor.
    • Responding to voicemails promptly.
  • Report accidents, illnesses, or incidents to the Crew Lead and/or General Manager.
  • Report necessary equipment, materials, or repairs to the Crew Lead.
  • Uphold Exterior Department Quality Standards and prioritize teamwork.
  • Follow directions from Crew Leads and Management, staying informed of routine changes.
  • Install plants per Crew Lead instructions, using proper planting techniques.
  • Bring, track, and care for tools on the jobsite.
  • Drive a company vehicle when needed, maintaining cleanliness and adhering to maintenance policies.
  • Remove personal items from vehicles daily and report all accidents immediately.
  • Record working hours, including overtime, accurately.
  • Participate in company LEAN activities and maintain assigned areas.
  • When covering for a Crew Lead, report account concerns to a Supervisor or Manager on the same day.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one (1) year of horticultural, landscape, or construction experience.
  • Previous experience in landscape maintenance or installation preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to operate a box truck in urban settings preferred.
  • Strong plant identification skills; Latin nomenclature is a plus.
  • Experience using standard landscape equipment (e.g., weed eater, blower, power shears, hand tools) safely and properly.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to talk, hear, sit, stand, walk, use hands, and reach with arms.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Work in varied field environments with moderate to occasional loud noise.
